      9. BYU Cougars (5-0)

      BYU took its biggest step yet toward an unbeaten season with a 43-26 win at Houston on Friday night, and junior quarterback Zach Wilson took another step toward inserting his name squarely into the Heisman Trophy race. The Cougars scored 29 unanswered points after falling behind 26-14 in the third quarter, and Wilson threw three of his four touchdown passes in the final 15 minutes and 53 seconds of the game. BYU, averaging 43.6 points per game, still has its toughest games to come against Boise State (on the road) and San Diego State.

      College football rankings are nothing more than a beauty pageant after the top4-5 teams. Props to BYU and the other schools effectively managing the adverse situation and getting in a 10+ game season. No way an undefeated P12 team should be included in the NC discussion/selection if it comes to fruition. BYUs schedule is too weak to be in the big bowl mix, not completely their fault.

      I do find it laughable how KW talks as if he has to make a decision on a QB on such short notice. P12 is starting their season as the rest of college football other than the BIG (insert P12 lap dog photo) who will be two weeks into their 8 game season will be 2/3 of the way through their schedule playing 10-12 games.  

      Don’t get me wrong, as excited as the rest of you to see Utah football, let’s keep it real though, the P12 is starting it’s season as the rest of the major conferences are close to closing out their season having played at least 10 games. Regardless of opponent, playing almost twice as many games is a huge disadvantage with wear and tear, injuries, etc. Another outcome of the P12 conference leadership disaster from Larry Scott to all the school presidents and ADs. Go Utes!
