And most of the blame has to go to the coaching staff. Most of that blame has to go to the man on top. He is ultimately responsible.

I am not smart enough to know why, when, and where this season went so bad, but it has.

I have never (in over 60 years) been so upset with our football program. I really cannot explain my disappointment.

IMO, Whitt should announce that he is leaving at the end of the season. However, I have heard that the AD has asked him to stay one more season. I am not 100% sure this is true, but in my mind, it would be a big mistake.

Rebuilding this team will be difficult and likely take multiple years. We need to start now!!!

I feel like Whitt has a lot pride in his program. I also think he’s a bit stubborn. He will not leave this program in this state. He will build it up again before he steps aside. Just my opinion.

It is hard to you know of him just walking away but you never know. If he left this year the expectations for Scalley would be much lower than of Whitt left after a playoff birth year. Lower expectations for Scalley give him more runway.

Unfortunately, I believe you’re right and that he won’t walk away from the program. The problem is that I don’t see him being able to reinvent himself and lead Utah to future success. That means that he’ll probably overstay his welcome and end up being fired, thus tarnishing his legacy. Interesting times are certainly upon us as Utah fans.
