I should say first – there isn’t typically much you can learn from a spring game.
The good – I like what I saw from JQJ at running back and I liked that he caught a few balls. I like what I saw from Mikey Matthews. He is not afraid to take a hit. It’s hard to judge, but I liked what I saw from Battle at CB. The bad – I detect a small limp from Cam. He basically has three months of rehab to be ready for fall camp. The Ugly – Five turnovers. Whit has to be upset with the turnovers we had today.
Too many guys did not play today to really judge what we have and we don’t have. I did watch the PAC12 championship game just before the spring game and that got me excited for football. 🙂
Tavion had the natural talent to be an excellent running back. His emotional issues prevented him from being the player he could have been. I feel sorry for Tavion. However, I do not condone his behavior off the field. I wish he could have got his head into the game and his personal life.
Keep an eye on Johnathan Hall. Under the radar good recruit for us been turning heads since he set foot on campus and did again today. Hard to think a true freshman could be in our safety rotation this year given our talent and depth, but he might make it hard to keep him off the field.
