Now, it was a very good year! 37 PPG, 25 rushing TD’s, 30 passing TD’s, 13 INT’s. But, what I don’t like is that the team’s record was 7-5, despite average 37 PPG and allowing 24 PPG. What does this mean? They had a small handful of soft opponents and they ran the score up. This is my biggest worry. You can score points, but can you keep the turnovers down and win against the stronger opponents? I’m glad they’re paying Whitt the big dollars to make the decision, as I am clearly lacking in experience with my armchair view.
The upside is that his whole career is from the Texas area, which is good for recruiting the state of Texas.
