Participant…is Utah made special arrangements with him in order to recruit him. Utah didn’t offer Zach Wilson, who desperately wanted to play at Utah because they promised Tuttle they wouldn’t recruit another QB.
Tuttle screwed us over. Not just by transferring, but by disrupting our QB pipeline and creating a HUGE distraction for the team right before the biggest game of the year.
I’m not going to make assumptions, but if he’s transferring because of playing time 6 games into his redshirt year, he’s a total primadonna.

MemberExactly my thoughts as well. Transferring 6 games into a redshirt year?? Then good riddance.

ParticipantThe other thing I find interesting is that I am speculating he was told behind closed doors that he would be the #2 and get his reps the second half of the season. The transfer comes on the heels of Tyler becoming the belle of the ball. This means he was literally lying in wait for Tyler to fail so that he could start next season and once that plan seemed to evaporate he bolted. OnlyU may have some insight later but this move seems totally out of character for everything we saw or read on the outside in regards to Tuttle.

MemberExactly. For someone who was so committed to the program through the entire process, get voted to the leadership council, plan was to redshirt anyway, to suddenly transfer mid season is a complete mystery to me. I hope the coaches weren’t as blind side by this as us.

ParticipantNot sure Zack is a fit for the system. If one reason Tuttle is transferring is because the spread requires a better runner, how is Zack a better fit.

ParticipantFrom the little I’ve seen of both of them, Wilson is a much better runner than Tuttle.

ParticipantI am not buying it. The RPO concept worked very well with Jared Goff who we would all agree is not an extremely mobile guy. The zone read scheme has been ran very effectively by Andy Dalton and “The Ratt” back in the day and neither of those guys were burners. Wilson looks to be just as athletic as well Wilson, and our Wilson ran one hell of a zone read if nothing else. This is the ultimate head scratcher. The real bummer is we will never know what happened because Whitt won’t say anything other than “he is no longer with the program and we wish him well” and the Tuttle hype machine will not do anything to taint their product.

ParticipantUmm, Zach is an athletic QB. He can run and would fit the system, but we passed on him for Tuttle. Hopefully that decision doesn’t hurt us in the end.

His mom tweeted this 2 days ago. So he decided this and barely told his parents in the last 48 hrs at most? This is just weird. We will see what comes out in regards to the story.
