BYU just won their tenth landscaping championship. Heck, we have never even made it to the sweet sixteen.

There is no way we can compete with all the NIL money they get from IFA, Scots, Tru Green, Home Depot, etc. On top of that, our best riding lawn mower guy left via the portal to Provo. It’s a bad day for the Utah Landscaping team.

Yes, the landscaping championship is really a thing. It made me laugh when I heard it on the news this morning.

      Have a great weekend!

As a middle aged father that loves a good lawn, I actually kind of wish that Utah did this.

That said, what’s funny is if you go to the BYU website you find this: “BYU consistently ranks among the top five schools in this competition, having won six national titles in the last seven years.”

But then when you go to the actual organizations web page, you realize it’s only about 50 colleges competing, in which a surprisingly high number of them are community colleges

Well I guess that’s not too surprising. After all, ybu-p had built their brand by beating up on smaller schools.

With the honor code they should be good at trimming bushes (hair) and only deal with 1 kind of grass. Not to mention popcorn popping on the apricot tree at football games.

I feel like agricultural schools like USU should be running away with these championships.
