Let me first say that this is just football and I should not be so invested. Sometimes I wish my dad would have taken me to the ballet or the opera instead of football games. I truly understand that being disappointed by football is insane. But, I am invested and I am too old to change that.
I wanted Whiit to retire so we could rebuild our floundering program. Whitt has not changed over time. One thing Nick Saban did was change with the times. He hated the no-huddle offense at first because his defense did not respond well. Two years later he implemented the no-huddle offense and passed a lot more. Whitt is an old-school guy and will NOT change. It is not his MO.
We missed on a couple of good OC candidates. It can be debated as to why. But, why would a fast-paced OC want to coach for Whitt? It makes no sense.
So, today I am disappointed and not happy about our program. If Whiit decides to stay (I am quite sure he is staying), I will support him and hope he can have a great season so he can go out a winner like he deserves.
