Trump’s erratic behavior may be their best chance.

Given that Trump has been disoriented and more out of it than usual under stress from COVID-19 and the upcoming election, my hope is that a noble soul will put in his mind the idea of freeing US political prisoners. I’d love to see him release Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu-Jamal from custody. Fingers crossed.

They were convicted of murdering law enforcement officers and Abu-Jamal has admitted to it. Peltier admits to firing shots in the shootout but somehow is certain his bullets weren’t the ones that were fatal. I’ll admit I’m not fully informed on the Peltier case but the current political climate doesn’t make all murders of LEO’s instantly political prisoners. 

These men were unfortunate to be dealing with LEO’s in the time that they were with skin the color it is, but you have to play by the rules as they are written at the time. Labeling them political prisoners is a stretch for me. Especially when you admit “I shot that mother f**ker and I hope he dies”.
