U of U basketball bragged about finishing an average of 3 for the past 3-5 years

  No other team has averaged better than utah basketball. If a team averaged first over the last 5 seasons, I can see your participation complaint. But staying top 3 every year is (arguably) better than being first one year then never going back.
  
  Maintaining a top 3 average is an accomplishment. It doesn’t mean we can’t be better. But let’s not discount the fact that even with “bad” teams, we still have it pretty good

    It isn’t an accomplishment in basketball. If you were in the ACC or big east I get ya. The goal for the program is the tournament. Especially in a down conference with the facilities Utah has.

      We should fire Larry and hire Mike Krzyzewski. Why hasn’t somebody thought of that? I bet that would solve a lot of our problems.

        Where did I defend him? I want him gone too. I’m just realistic enough to know that (a) it’s not going to happen because of his contract, and (b) we’re not going to get anyone better right now.
        
        I just get tired of your whiny posts that don’t offer anything constructive. Even a baby can p**s and moan.

  Finishing top 3 is almost completely useless if;
  1. Your RPI isn’t high enough for an at-large bid
  2. You can’t win your first game in the PAC 12 tourney (3 years in a row now)
  
  The only thing those top 3 finishes show is consistent mediocrity. We’ve finished with an RPI between 75 and 125 those three years. The goal for an at-large bid is, what, top 40? It’s hard to believe that Utah, with its resources and its tradition, can’t be a top 40 basketball school.
