He had 61 yards his first game, then 62 more yards the entire rest of the season? What is going on here?

          This smacks of truth.

Utah pushed above its weight for years and now is going to have to learn to succeed within the new rules. It does not look like an easy path.

Mitchell finished the season with 158. But Green had a slightly better per carry average. 3.8 to 4.2….

Rest of the room is undersized high school kids that will probably take 2 years to be ready.

Expect the QB to run majority of the time.

Atuaia is recruiting RB like he is still at Wazzu. In fact, he recruited Green when he was at Wazzu.

Have to level up. Green hasn’t shown anything to warrant a spot on our roster.

Our RB room still has a ways to go.

Maybe his running style fits the new offense. When is the last time we had a freshman running back contribute immediately besides #22. Hopefully Beck will adapt the offense to the RB strengths instead of their weaknesses.

Hopefully, but naked eye can’t see the potential right now based on UNLV performance or recruiting profile.

The problem with Whitt’s coaching network is that it is small and Utah bound. It rarely includes a guy with reaches into major recruiting areas. Dennis Erickson was one of those exceptions. Beck, Detmer and Atuaia are just 3 more BYU guys with no more recruiting reach than we had before.

Let’s hope they are great at X’s and O’s, but the recruiting chops aren’t evident, yet.

Good points Yergie. I think money trumps all in the portal. Now even if you get a top Florida recruit if you can’t pay them they’ll go back home after a year or two if they are good.
