If there is anything positive to take from Saturday’s games it is hopefully we have seen the last of Wilson for a long long time. I can’t believe that Utah did not have a better quarterback as a backup than Wilson.

Plus why did Whittingham continue to call times outs at the end of the game giving Houston more time to move closer the goal. Had he not called time outs the Houston probably would have added another 10-15 yards on the field goal

Didn’t Houston have some time outs of their own? I think Whitt’s theory (which failed) assumed that Houston was going to score and he was trying to save time for us to score.

I don’t have an issue with Wilson. He is a true freshman and he will make mistakes. Rose is the disappointment. Been in the program for the last few years and still gets beat out by a true freshman.

This means one of two things. Either Utah can’t judge QB talent or they don’t develop anybody (Rose, Johnson, Tuttle, and the list goes on).

I’m curious which of those two things you find most likely? To me they are opposite sides of the same coin so I’m interested why it’s one or the other

Unpleasant questions for sure. It wouldn’t be the first time Utah chose the wrong QB to start.
Rose looked good to start. Those drops and mistakes just make your jaw drop as well. The play calling didn’t improve either. Still very disjointed in what kind of system Utah wants to run.
