Did I real that line correct? If so then I’m going to take AZ. Ute’s win by 18 and I think we’re ahead at the half comfortably but Whit won’t run up the score on a bottom feeder. And he’ll want to rest a lot of our starters for next week against UO. So I suspect we’ll be going into clock time early and running a lot just like last week.

We won our last game 52-7. 🙂

Normally I would cringe at the amount of confidence everyone has with capturing a win on Saturday. Man, I’m trying really hard to picture a scenario where AZ gives us a game and I can’t find one. They’ve been decimated with injuries, they struggled to put up 10 points on a bad team missing 20 players last week, and Utah has found themselves and is on ROLL right now. I know the college football gods have a cruel sense of humor at times, but I just don’t think this week is it.
Utah will be able to do whatever it wants Saturday. That might mean Whitt calls off the dogs early and we win by 10-14, who knows? I’d stay far far away from betting on this one.

Arizona scored 10 points against a cal team that was literally down to 3rd and 4th stringers
Utah is going to win this game by 30+ points unless Whit pulls all the starters at halftime

That “unless” is why I’d stay away from the betting window…

This is Utah’s first time playing a Don Brown defense, which in a lot of ways resembles the 2018 Utah D where Scalley would bring pressure from anywhere at any time. Utah has struggled against teams that vary their pressures which UCLA and Stanford don’t. Arizona doesn’t gave the horses to keep it up all game but it will take a drive or two for Utah to get comfortable on offense.
I think it will be a closer first half than expected, call it 13-0. TWo TD’s in the 3rd quarter make it 27-3. Backups in 4th quarter and ends up 30-10. Dominant win but missed chances in the red zone again keep it from really getting out of hand like Stanford did.

That sounds about right.

Watched the AZ presser with their coach. Their players will be up big times for this game compared to last week. Doesn’t mean the Utes can’t continue what they do best but I can sense this game will be harder initially out of the gates.
Their defense is best part of their team.
I skipped through video and only one question asked about Utah. He didn’t even acknowledge the Utes in detail at all. Just said tough game them went on to discuss rest of season.
Just want to get through this game unscathed 🙏🏼-

Point of reference total defense Utah is 38th and Zona is 44. Interested parties may note as well that Oregon is 59th.

Getting that first win in a very long time will give them a boost in confidence if anything.
Need to ready for an inspired opponent so their fans and students don’t get to storm the field for the second straight week.

That was sweet, inspiring, awkward and kind of pathetic all at the same time.

It’s great that they will be up for the game but even under normal circumstances Utah wins big. However due to injuries they won’t be at full strength. If we lose I’ll be very surprised.

I watched the Cal/UA games last night (my eyes took a while to recover). Their defense showed signs of life, in fact they played alright. They aren’t exactly world beaters, but if Utah comes in totally dismissing UofA, they could surprise us. The UA offense is nearly nonexistent.

Kinda funny that saying the Ute’s will ONLY win by 18 is a negative. Kyle is definitely going to sit a bunch of our starters when we have a 17 or 21 lead. We need a healthy team for UO. I don’t see him risking much. Which, again, doesn’t mean we won’t win. Just means that spread doesn’t take a few other things into account. If we win by 50 I’ll be thrilled. But only if our starters are still healthy for the game next week.
