As is the case with nearly every home and home series we have scheduled since joining the Pac-12.
BYU, Utah State, Michigan, San Jose State, N. Illinois, San Diego State, Baylor, and now Wyoming; the first game in all of these home and homes was, or will be, played on the road. The only series we have scheduled since joining the Pac-12 where the opponent was scheduled to come to SLC first was Fresno State.
I’ve heard Kyle likes “easy” road games. It gets the team away from family and friends, it gives them a test run on road games, you get a hostile (sort of) crowd, etc.
You get a win, but have to go through the motions of a tougher game. Prepares you for the season.
That doesn’t explain why we keep agreeing to play the first game on the road in all of these agreements. It seems odd that we are almost always visiting the other school first.
What the hell? Texas went there like 6 years ago. I don’t see how this will help us with recruiting, but from a nostalgia point of view it’s kinda cool.
