ParticipantMcbride – Whittingham – Hill – Meyer
It’s hard to put a player who was only here for a few years on a list that includes men whose careers spanned more than a decade. Obviously Meyer was only here for two years, but what he achieved in those two years is nothing short of monumental.

InactiveAlex by virtue of the fact that he is our only #1 draft pick, led the most prolific and best team we’ve ever had, is the original BCS buster, and one of two QBs in the modern era to go undefeated. Plus he was 21-1 during his career here.

ParticipantPlayers may only be there for 4 years, but they often have an impact beyond those four years. There are plenty of dudes in the NFL, or that have been in the NFL that have really had an impact on the team for years after they leave. Many of our guys come back and contribute to the team.
Also, there is Mr. Scalley, who was a great player for us, and also happens to be our current Defensive Coordinator. In another few years, he will certainly be in the conversation.

* that 55 yd fg in Provo was a huge catalyst to change the mindset of locals that Utah would own the state going forward. Still my favorite rivalry game ever. I was in Jr High sitting with my friend and his BYU fan family (wearing red in a sea of zoob was priceless)

ParticipantHow is Weddle not mentioned in almost every post? Not only was he the best defensive player we’ve had in ages (at least relative to the competition), but he was also one of our biggest offensive weapons, and great on special teams as well.
He is also in the conversation for Utes with the greatest NFL careers.
Mcbride, Whit, Weddle, Smith (either Smith works for me, they both had great careers at Utah, they both represent an era of Ute football, and they both are/were successful in the NFL… and they both love the Utes and contribute still to this day to our team.

ParticipantWhy do you think I mentioned the Weddler? He was great in all four phases of the game – defense, offense, special teams and BEARD.
