  I don’t think that’s relevant but there is a small amount of pride and dignity involved with that move.

  I remember a former coach who wore a white sweater that did pretty good. I’ve always thought it rather silly to wear a suit and tie to coach a sporting event in a hot arena. If only Belichick would dress up maybe he would become successful.
