Utah concluded the Nordic half of the Montana State Invitational this weekend, leaving the alpine slate to be completed on January 30-31. Utah sits atop the team standings with 396 points for the meet, a 120-point pad on second-place Alaska Anchorage.
On Friday, Novie McCabe had over four seconds of padding on the way to their 11th career RMISA victory, while both Sophia Laukli and Samuel Hendry made their collegiate season debuts with third-place finishes in the women’s and men’s events.
Saturday saw McCabe claim a second victory. McCabe was joined on the podium by Laukli and Sydney Palmer-Leger as the Utah Ski Team swept the women’s top-three in the 5K freestyle race. Additionally, Walker Hall took second in the men’s 10K freestyle.
Utah Skiing’s next meet will be the Westminster Invitational at Snowbird, Jan 26 & 27.
