Love our chances next week. Here are the actual numbers to back it up.

      Ofense Overall:

Oregon -3rd Overalll (441 per game)

Utah -4th Oveall (438 Per Game)

      – No difference – we are at home and therefore have the edge.

Rush Offense v Our Rush D

      Oregon – 2nd Rush Offense —-  Utah 5th Rush D

This is Oregon’s Bread and butter; we all remeber Oregon St. But, we are at home. Our Rush D is ok. Not Great not terrible. I still like our chances due to us being at home.

      Oregon Pass O v our Pass D

      Oregon 9th Passing – utah is 5th Passing D

Oregon is not a great passing D. Brown is inconsistent. Glad we have Malone M back. Marks got hurt, but IMO vaughn has played better, Marks has looked lost all year (He’s a true freshman so it is what it is) but so is Vaughn, and he has played better.

Contain, not stop but contian the run (unlike Ore St) and we are in business)

Utah Rushing V Oregon Rush D  Utah 3rd rushing v Oregon Number 1 Rush D

This is where Oregon is Great. Number one against Rush in the pac, but, we are number 3 in rushing offense right behind Oregon. Thomas, PLedger, Bernard will be good to go. Remember Ucla had the number one rush D coming into RES also. We all remeber what happened.

      Utah Pasing O V Oregon Pass D –  Utah is 4th passing Oregon pass D is 11th.

people, Rising could tear up this Oregon Secondary, they are talented and fly around, but give up big plays all of the time. De Laura lit them up alst week.  This is where having a competent QB is huge. Out TE’s are going to feast.

Bottom line, UO is not the juggernut we all think, Brown is not great, he’s good not great. If we rattle him and stop him on his running he cannot throw the ball consistently. As long as we dont lose two O-Line. Mainly Ford, As long as he plays we are in business.

Last thing, Never underestimate a rocking, sold out, loud, emotional RES. Thats good for at least 3-7 points alone IMO. I wish our special teams could do anything. Unfortuently we suck in that department. Go Utes

Vaughn had a rough day both against the pass and run against UA.

Corner play is a big concern going forward.

Brown is No Herbert. The Utes have a much better chance, but have to get pressure to protect the secondary. That’s going to be a tall order with UO’s lines. They’re always stout.

One thing I expect, and maybe Oregon will too, is that Rising will punt a few times, and one of them is gonna be a fake.

After watching the Oregon game last night, we need to defend Brown the way we have defended Daniels at ASU. Brown does not throw the ball as well as Daniels, but he is a better true runner. We need to contain him in the pocket and make him throw the ball. If we can limit his ability to extend the play with his legs, I think we have a good chance to win. If he is consistently gashing us with his legs and extending plays and downs, we are in trouble.
