For those who care!
1. Denver is good. Their defense was stout and never gave us a chance inside of 12 yards.
2. Utah had their chances to make a game of it. They he turned the face-off x around and started getting stops. They adjusted well and gained some traction after a really bad first 8-12 minutes. Against a good opponent. But they couldn’t quite make a run on the score board.
3. The game was closer than the score. Denver put a rash of goals in when it was already out of reach.
4. The Utes put up 8 goals without scoring anywhere remotely near the crease. Takes a few cannons to manage that. Should bode well for conference.
5. Don’t know a ton about the ASUN this year but 1 game in(that I’ve watched) I like our chances to repeat!
6. Mcminn has no scheduling fear!
We’re actually two games into the season now, having already lost to Ohio St 2-wks ago. The Ohio St game was at least a competitive one. The Denver game leaves us with nothing to hang our hat on. Yes, they’re a Top-10 team, and yes we weren’t expected try beat them, but we didn’t look competitive against Denver.
Next week’s game vs Syracuse might be the last chance we have to beat a “ranked” team this season.
