Utes baseball starts season with a road sweep

This afternoon we completed the sweep of Pepperdine in a rare 4-game series to open the season, all of which were blowout wins except the opener which went into extra innings. Pitching was solid and offense was good too. Hard to really make any real judgements considering Pepperdine was an inferior opponent but a great way to start the season nonetheless.

I’m looking forward to this baseball season and plan to attend as many home games as I can, we’ve got some good teams coming to town this year in big 12 play.

Isn’t Pepperdine sort of small school with a big program (sort of like Gonzaga in hoops)?

Pepperdine has been historically good at baseball but have not been as good in recent years.

Where are they playing this season? I know that season tickets cost about the same as a meal at McDonald’s.

One more year at Smiths ballpark then the new stadium on campus should be ready for next season.
