      I like this hire. He was here in 2018 as a graduate assistant. I wonder if this appeases the crowd that wants Whitt to hire “outside his bubble”. He was only here for one year as a GA so I think it should.

        That whole bubble argument is silly anyway.  EVERYONE who ever does any hiring trust their personal knowledge and experience over someone they’ve never heard of before.  That’s the way life works.  Plus in the coaching ranks, you work with many people from some many diverse backgrounds.  Just becuase you have worked with them, doesn’t mean they are in your bubble.

        The “hire outside the bubble” crowd wasn’t hinting at poaching coaches from the FCS ranks though….

      A quick check of his bio:

      Played WR at Missisissippi St — SEC, Southeastern recruiting

      Probably was recommended by a former Utah QB coach, or former Utah QB — good recommendation for his first stint here

      Lead his team in receptions in the SEC – that’s got to have weight with the WRs and recruites

      this hire has a lot of upside, I’m excited to see how it works out
