Ute Lacrosse dumps Cleavland St 15-11.

Utes turn a 5 goal deficit into a 6 goal lead, eventually winning by 4.

      2-0 in conference.

very exciting for all of us lax fans!

In the conference’s preseason polls, Utah and Air Force were both tied as favorites to win the conference.  Robert Morris came in behind us, but had actually received more “1st-place votes” than had Utah.  Utah had already beaten Air Force in Colorado Springs last week, 10-8, and will face Robert Morris next week in Salt Lake City.  If we beat RMU, the regular season title will be all but wrapped up, and will ensure we get the #1 seed in the conference tournament in Huntsville, AL next month.

It’s almost guaranteed that Utah, AFA, and RMU will be first three seeds in that tournament, but who that final 4th seed will be is still TBD.

      GO UTES!!!

[** P.S.: With losses this week by #13 Boston, #15 Duke, #16 North Carolina, #17 Richmond, #18 Villanova, and #20 Massachusetts, Utah will most likely re-enter the Top-20 when Monday’s polls are released. **]

        Great info!

Thanks for being in touch with the scene!

We’re an AQ conference with the bus going to the tourney winner right?

        ejats the tourney format?

You are correct.  The winner of the ASUN tournament gets an autobid to Nationals.  The ASUN tournament will only take 4 teams though, and you can pretty much bank on Utah, AFA, RMU being 3 of the 4.

If I were to guess the 4th right now, I’d predict Bellarmine.

Utah failed to re-enter the Top-20.

#13 Boston only dropped down to #16.  #15 Duke lost to [then]#13 Notre Dame, but actually ROSE to #14 [how does THAT work?].  #16 North Carolina only dropped one spot to 15th.  #17 Richmond also dropped only one spot, down to 18th.  #18 Villanova is now receiving votes (2-spots behind Utah), and #20 UMass is out of the polls altogether.  Utah remained exactly where we were last week — 3-spots south of the Top-20.

We get Robert Morris this weekend.  Hopefully a win will be all that will be necessary to jump back up into the Top-20.

        GO UTES!!!
