From the stats, it looks like Vaki is getting some playing time on offense and defense. It appears he is getting a lot more reps on offense. He had 6 carries for 22 yards and 4 pass catches for 60 yards. Did anyone see the game that can give us an update more than just stats.

Vaki is a good man. I hope he succeeds in Detroit.

I wonder if we messed up with him, by not having him on offense as much as we should have.

He certainly excelled on offense when given the opportunity.

Obviously the dude has to get paid in the NFL – but what could have been if he stayed one more year in this offense. 👀

But also if we had all the tools last year that were healthy and playing, he may have not seen the offensive side of the ball.

Whitt said multiple times that Vaki did not want to play offense.

I didn’t see him play any defense yesterday, but what I did see was him carrying the Lions offense by being the QB safety valve and a few called pass plays for him.

Seemed a lot like how the Utes use Micah Benard.

It is tough to predict the future. Utah has put a lot of players in to the NFL on the defensive side of the ball an there were a lot of indications that his future was there.

Furthermore, safety has much better longevity than RB so it is not like Utah did him a disservice by playing him at safety.

Hope he makes a nice career for himself in Detroit.
