Well, good luck to him in Upstate South Carolina…if he’s getting $1M from Clemson based on his performance last year, he must have a great agent.

what the heck? A million for being a below average college basketball player? If that is true it honestly makes me angry. Not because he’s getting paid, but because there are people in this world that would throw millions of dollars at their favorite basketball team to pay their players rather than using that money for good. There is a lot of BS in this world that could be fixed with a million dollars. Giving a million to a guy like Wahlin is basically throwing it down the toilet.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

right, which I essentially said in my post. It isn’t the player I’m angry at for taking money. It is these uber wealthy people that could do so much good with their money that instead choose to spend it on stuff like this.

What really makes it crazy is that here’s a guy who is never even going to get a sniff of the NBA, making more money than some players on NBA rosters. It’s truly the world turned upside down.

As he states, these are estimates, but this is just for transfers and doesn’t include what YBU and others are spending on high school recruits, Euros, and retaining current players.

Here are the CBB programs that are *estimated* to have spent the most NIL money on incoming transfers this offseason so far.

        Michigan 8.8 million
        Kentucky 7.6m
        Maryland 7.1m
        Miami 7.1m
        Iowa 6.6m
        Virginia 6.2m
        Washington 5.9m
        Creighton 5.6m
        Georgetown 5.5m
        Xavier 5.5m

These are ballpark numbers using the Front Office Suite at http://EvanMiya.com based on what every player should theoretically be worth in NIL, accounting for current market rates.

That is a crazy number if accurate. Good for Wahlin. He would be a terrific part of Alex’s team with his defensive skill and willingness to work which is showing up with improved play. He is becoming a good shooter. I hope he’ll continue to improve at Clemson because I know he would have here.

      Yea. Not worth it. IMO.

Let Alex Cook. He will Get This Thing turned around.

I would have liked Jake to return, but I can understand him leaving if he’s getting that much money. I certainly wouldn’t want Utah to pay him that much.

I think ultimately he will get fewer minutes at Clemson than he would have at Utah.
