      Cool down has begun on the Plains, but the heat is still on for the Intermountain West.   Some increase in instability puts a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for Thursday, but should be mainly in the mountains and mainly afternoon to early evening.   Will need to keep a 10% chance of rain in the forecast for the game in Provostan under partly cloudy skies.   High temperature 90, kickoff temperature 85.

      I don’t think I’ve seen a cloud yet this month and my lawn looks like I’m a Wyoming Cowboys fan.

        That was my lawn until we got about 2-and-a-half inches of rain over the weekend.
        And, yeah, in the populated valleys of Utah most rain will likely evaporate before it hits the ground (virga).
