      It’s only week 2 but here we go! 

      Critical conference game to keep an eye on this weekend. 

      USC @ Stanford, 5:30pm, FOX

      We really need a USC loss if we want to win the south this year.

      If USC wins, our chance to win the south goes close to zero. 

      If Stanford wins and we beat USC, we will have a three game cushion on USC. Stanford beating USC is the biggest game for Utah not involving Utah. 

      That being said, USC’s run defense was so bad last week. I fully expect Stanford and Love to run all over them and Stanford’s defense to destroy their true freshman QB.

      Utah’s analysis aside, it doesn’t really matter who wins tomorrow. The Utes have to beat both of those teams if we want to win the South. Utah has to win three out of four of Oregon, Washington, USC and Stanford in order to win the South. Do that and tomorrow’s outcome of Tree vs Prophylactic isn’t critical.

          Sure, if you want to try to calculate the permutations of winning the division at 6-3. Otherwise, gotta win three of four as stated above.

            Technically, USC losing to us and Stanford allows us to go 2-2 vs those teams. 

            A loss tomorrow is huge for us.
