How do you reign back in players getting money outside of the school? Now I’m hearing about investors purchasing 50% of college teams is in the work to get more funding to the schools.
There is no going back. Frankly, the idea of investors purchasing teams is probably the best path forward, if it leads to a super-conference that is NFL-lite.
It’s just weird. We’re trying to combine public and private institution made for learning with this side business of kids going to a new school every year. Not many rules for the Wild West of college football.
Essentially you need to give the players the power to collectively bargain, i.e. a players union.
Right now e are in the wild west. It’s only going to be this way for a short time. Sometime soon players will be paid employees and will need to sign contracts.
