    One day–probably in the not-too-distant future–that site will go down like it did this morning and it will never come back up. You should prepare yourself for that.

      Agree… which is one reason that a number of us jumped to this site once it was created. At least if it does disappear, there is somewhere to go. It may help with increased traffic.

        If that site is down for good, my only regret will be not going and taking screen shots of the 30+ pages of threads that were posted on Pacmas Day, 2010. That was an amazing time with some truly epic posts.

        SFork and I have been busy competing in a medium and large cat throwing competition. Utehub is awesome during the season, but when Moose was banned, the offseason appeal died down for me.

  I hate to say this but as a sysadmin I believe that error is less likely a crash and more likely Monkey just stopped paying the bills. “Forbidden” means someone configured the server to reject connections (or simply took the code offline).

    IIRC UFN is on a dedicated box co-located at Xmission. I’m guessing the hosting is still on since the server is responding. Most likely s**t’s just broken and neglected or possibly been rooted by Chinese hackers. I wish Monkey would let somebody else have it who has the time and expertise to tend to it, since he doesn’t seem to.

  This is premature and maybe he’ll work out something with someone he knows personally, but if his account is in arrears, then maybe something can be negotiated through X-Mission (the hosting company I believe). However, he does own the domain and the registration doesn’t expire until 2017-09-11, and the data and software belongs to him as well (I think).

  It’ll be interesting to see what happens. Monkey’s latest FB post was from 4 days ago, nothing new concerning any personal circumstances that might contribute to the demise of UF.N.

      I think a lot of people like the format. I’ve complained about it at times, but it’s nice to jump on, and just have everything right there in front of you. I know some people complain about the politics, but it’s the offseason. There’s only so much football stuff to discuss.

    I doubt it. He proudly proclaimed that he has not spent a second on this site. Personally, I don’t understand what the problem is. I am now a member of all three sites, same name on all 3. I just don’t get why we can’t like all three.
