Three conference titles in 20 years. One meaningful bowl win. And he is gonna get a statue. 🤮🤢
That’s pathetic. Get offended all you want but those are facts. Longevity doesn’t equal greatness.
There are so many Whittingham defenders and apologists and I’m sick of it. I’ve said it for years — he is overrated. And he’s WAY overstayed his welcome.
KW is a slow adjuster. It’s why he’s unsuccessful in big bowl games. He’s also a dinosaur that will never adapt.
It’s why Utah struggled to acclimate to the P12 and why the program is struggling in the B12.
He’s not a great strategist against teams he’s unfamiliar with… but once he’s faced you several times, he’s able to create a plan. That’s a mediocre/average coach. He has ZERO creativity and is a robot.
Probably going to get a lot of thumbs down on this post. Don’t care. I’ll shoot off fireworks once he’s gone.

I can’t argue your points, especially tonight-
Why he is so beloved is his record against TDS, the culture he built here. We are (or were) a nationally respected program. His defense is always tough, like it or not, this defense is still tough and if we could average 20 points we would be in pretty good shape right now.-

no one is arguing his defense. however, if the bar is 20 ppg from his offense to be successful and he can’t hit it how can you justify keeping him on? because he’s the HNIC. Ludwig was the symptom but the problem is and always has been at the top.
How do you not call a TO before that 3rd and 1 when they aren’t in field goal range yet? Just like taking a delay instead of calling a TO on the last drive against ASU. He’s no longer able to overcome his own weaknesses. I hate saying it but man, if the evidence isn’t slapping us in the face with 9 inches of limp dick right now, I don’t know what it’s going to take.

How many conference titles did Cal, ASU, AZ, WSU, OSU, UCLA have in the pac 12? I don’t know but thought I’d ask.

Are any of those programs going to likely build a statue for their coach and or have had them employed for 20+ years with average results? Three conference titles and one meaningful bowl win in 20 years might be below average, honestly. Throw in UNLV, Colorado State and Air Force to your response because Whittingham only had one conference title in the MWC. That narrative is an excuse for Whittingham and I just don’t get it. Very frustrating.

No, average coaches can beat average teams. He’s far less

Crazy Urban in 2 years only has one less conference title than a guy who has been the HC for 20. If the Pac 12 didn’t change its qualifying rules before the 22 season, Whitt and Urban would have the same with one coaching 10x as long.

Honestly, take away 2004 and what special has been done? Sad to say, Utah has been passed by TDS in bball and now football. Time for change! Anyone that say different is a fool. Keep telling the truth Roy Hobbs, anyone that denies your facts is scared of the truth!

2008, but yes. Whitt is a coach whose averages 4 losses a season. He’s a good coach. I’ve never called for him to be fired, but he also isn’t a great coach that should get a statue.
