Don’t care if this offends some of you, but I think many of you Whitt apologist can come to the conclusion that as long as he’s HC at Utah, any good OCs (that are “outsiders”) still on the market will not be going to Utah. Two top failed OC hires in the last three days should confirm everything some of us already knew. Whitt’s not leaving, Scalley probably has very little to no say so with the hiring process, and more than likely Whitt will hire someone who will obey Coach Whitt’s orders even if it means another 5-7 or worse season. It’s either his way or the highway.

Whitt has earned tons of respect for what he has done for the program, and I respect that 100%! However, he’s not doing the program any favors by staying. The players deserve much better than a mediocre offense, especially those coming back. If a good OC hasn’t been hired by Dec 9th, I wouldn’t be surprised if some offensive players hit the portal because they’re not going to want to stick around under poor head coaching. Whitt may have suckered some players to stay, but not everyone is going to stay if they feel he’s the problem. I wouldn’t be surprised if injury prone Rising returns and 2024 season will be replayed again in 2025. Jokes on Utah now as everything is a “game time decision!” Go UTES!

      I agree 100%.

This program needs rebuilding. The offense needs a complete overhaul. But, Whitt will keep the offense as it has been. He may just promote Harding to OC.

He may let Morgan voice his opinion on potential OCs. However, from what I have heard, he is in control and will not let anyone else in. Very sad IMO.

IF all these rumors are true about Whittingham not relinquishing control, refusing to retire etc., then this is reason to be massively frustrated. Especially after two mediocre years by our standards, this could really hurt our program.
