Isaac Wilson holds the ball so long because he’s terrified to throw a pick or make a mistake. A qb has to have confidence and has to be ready to make a decision and pull the trigger quickly. They don’t have time to second guess their instincts. I would way rather my qb throw some interceptions as he learns a system, learns about windows, and learns timing than an impotant qb that doesn’t throw interceptions. How do I know this is Whit’s fault? Because Wilson used to be a gun slinger and now he’s not. He has regressed just like every qb does at Utah.

Also, Whittingham’s lack of offensive culture has caught up with him.

Post of the day, there is collateral damage with Whitt’s mismanagement of the QB position.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, QB is the moon to Whitt.

Wilson doesn’t see the field. The game is too fast for him. He is inaccurate on quck release throws.

Utah simply doesn’t have a starting QB. Neither Wilson nor Rose are the QB Utah needs.

Someone, on some Utah focused platform with “direct knowledge,” posted that after the ASU game, Wilson was ready to transfer because Whit insisted playing Rising the whole game.

      I really don’t care.

Wilson might turn out to be a good QB. My guess is it won’t be for Utah.

I can’t fault play calling this game. I’m not sure I fault Ludwigs play calling either. At some point, an OC is gonna get desperate for something, ANYTHING to work. Ludwig found himself at that point.

Nothing is going to change this season. It’s clear who Utah is. Who plays now concerns me not.

Whitt should fire Whitt. Get it right this time and fire the right person. The transfers out this winter will be crippling unless Whitt leaves. You drunk fools know I am right!

Red Rhino, I think you nailed it. Other than Cam and Huntley his senior year, this has been the case with every QB under Whit. It took Cam and Huntley years to gain Whit’s trust. I have no idea how good Wilson could have been this year, but Whit hounding him in the media and I’m sure in person about those early picks he threw against Southern Utah and Utah St didn’t help. Now he’s too afraid to let it rip unless someone is wide open. This pattern has repeated itself over and over with Ute qbs.

I will say, I think Whit has been exceptional as a head coach overall, just think he has mismanaged QBs his entire tenure.

I’d say he’s not only mismanaged QBs, he’s mismanaged the entire offense during his tenure. Never should have brought back Ludwig, but he did it because they’re buds. What talented skill players would want to come here and play under this offense? Wilson is not the QB of the future, nor is Rose. We need to snag a talented QB in the portal and bring in an innovative OC who can open up this offense.
