They joined the press conference a bit late,so I don’t know what he said in the first fe minutes.

5 yards a carry is the benchmark for our running game. We were at 4.7. When our run game is clicking we will be around 230 yards. There is more that we need to do. Bernard had a good game.

USC is much better on defense. Barnes didn’t look bad and was composed. He was a great teammate here. He is a tough guy. We aren’t sure who will be starting this weekend.

When Cam’s playing the passing game looks good. When Isaac came in – we were trying to get out of their with a win. Isaac played with more confidence than he did the week before.

Whitt would have called a penalty on the Cam Rising hit. But, he is not going to worry about it.

He was asked how they are preparing for when Cam can’t play. If Isaac got first team reps – he would be better. He has played the equivalent of one game and has to develop.

Rising is a fierce competitor and it is hard to shut that down.

Has to prepare differently for the two QBs this weekend. Barnes would run more.

The gameplan would not change a lot if Isaac plays this weekend.

We did not play well the last time we played up there. They were ready to play and we were not good.

The rivalry with USU is not the same as the “Guys down South.” He then said he will be lambasted for saying that.

When we have three + games to look at – we then have a pretty good feel for how a team to play against us.

Good recap. I listened to the interview. It was short.

      I love it.

I think we aren’t terrible at RB…at least not as bad as it feels. Bernard is averaging over 6 yards per carry. He is 100% doing his job. But we have no one behind them. I don’t know if we need to work on some quick screens/throws to supplement the run game, if another RB just needs to step up…

But we need one more dynamic to the run game. Either incorporate more WR/TE sweeps, have a RB step up, improve the OL blocking a tad…something. We are so close to unstoppable. So freaking close.

Did Glover get injured? He had no carries on Saturday.

We used to use Kuithe for some runs. Maybe we don’t want to do that, or maybe use someone else…

Aggies fans and team will be fired up for our first visit up there in some time. But while Logan fans do a great job of cheering for their team, it isn’t nearly as unfriendly a place to visit as Provo is.

He said he won’t say any more about Cam’s injury per policy of not commenting on injuries that are not season-ending. He won’t be announcing the starting QB.

Never thought I would see the day that Utah fans were concerned with our running attack…..

Concern over Micah Bernard being the bellcow is purely an issue of cognitive dissonance and not an issue of productivity.

We were led to believe or made ourselves believe that Micah couldn’t carry a full game load. Well, apparently he can for 1 game anyway and be quite productive doing it.

      Micah Bernard, underrated since 2020.

We’ve seen Bernard have big games before and then get hurt the following week or go back to a reduced workload.

There isn’t anyone on here that doesn’t want Bernard to take over as RB1 and be the next great Utah back. It’s just hard to count on it at this point.

I think we’re going to find out how durable MB is, I don’t see anyone taking his touches. But Whitt did say it’s still a committee.

Bernard did put on about 10 pounds of muscle during the offseason. Hopefully this helps with the injury bug he seemed to pick up often.

I don’t normally comment on the coaches attire, but short sleeve hoody 👍.

Good catch, normally I’d say KWhitt wants to show off his guns but those sleeves were too long — covering the biceps, maybe he should cut them off 😉 😉
