and leaving the state, IMO. I’d expect to see Pepa sign/commit but don’t know how this snow will effect Bingham’s signing day stuff

Sounds like TDS is in the mix for Pepa as well.

I would say 90% Utah, 5% ybu, and 5% Wisconsin/Washington.  We really need him, he will go on a mission and it would be great to get him to replace the guys that are playing right now.

The main one that is on the fence is Drew Fowler as far as I know.

Academic issues.  Probably won’t sign until that is cleared up.  This isn’t new information.

Good news on Wimore, obviously could still go either way but this is encouraging.

Puka not signing an LOI today makes him a complete wild card. Earlier this week he was said to be a 95% lean to UW, with a slight chance of Oregon, but the fact that the family has stated they need to sit down and figure all of this out seems to indicate that either he himself is torn or there might be a Jayden Daniels situation where he’s leaning one way and the family is wanting to see him go another.

Utah is supposedly still recruiting him hard and I’m hoping playing with his brother has at least some pull with him, as well as his family being able to more easily attend games id he stays here. Rumor has it that BYU is no longer in the running, and if that is true, Utah should be able to maximize a “stay at home” pitch.

Peterson is a heck of a recruiter, though, and UW has thus far only signed one WR in this class, so there is a lot to like about UW. It’s clearly not a homerun for Nacua, though, for whatever reason, otherwise there seemingly wouldn’t be anything left to figure out and he’d sign today.

IMO Puka waiting means he’s waiting to see how UW’s class and other classes fill out – If UW flips some WR talent, he’d come to Utah

I agree, but its also a good thing that a local kid is giving it more time. I think it gives Utah an advantage on the continued recruitment. Much easier for the local school to continually check in that the out of state programs.

That said, it shouldn’t be overlooked that he has never officially de-committed from USC. We may be counting them out prematurely. He may be waiting for the dust to settle with them a little before making his final decision.

He is wanting to see if teams wait for him. Personally I think Utah can use him but I won’t be upset if he leaves to another school.

I wouldn’t bet on us landing Nacua at this point, but Jones and Nacua would be a great pair of receivers to have in the same class. One ridiculously fast, one ridiculously tall. Plus, it would be nice to see the #1 recruit in Utah stay home for a change.

Junior Tafuna won’t be signing his LOI to Utah until tomorrow at 10:00. Likely the same with the rest of the bingham kids
