Oregon looks like the most complete team, but even Boise St gave them fits. OSU has amazing talent, but I’m unsure Day can bounce back after the Michigan loss. Texas, Penn St, and Georgia are strong but not unbeatable. I don’t have faith in Tennessee or ND. Indiana and Boise State could make some noise, but I don’t see them going all the way. Clemson and SMU look the weakest.
So my hatred for them aside, my dark horse pick is ASU. They’ve caught fire at the right time, and Dillingham has big balls. If a few things break their way, I wouldn’t be shocked if they win it all.🤢🤮
Hard to see ASU as a potential NC pick. I believe that team has plenty of holes which, given the amount of time between the end of the regular season and their actual game, opponents with superior personnel can exploit. If, for example, the Sun Devils draw Texas as their next opponent, I can easily see a blowout going Texas’ way. I personally like SMU or Clemson as dark horse picks.
ASU will not win it. Let’s be honest, they’re just not up there with the big boys talent-wise. I think my Dark Horse is probably Tennessee or Notre Dame. They have the actual blue chip talent to do it.
Like to see someone like SMU, Indiana, or ASU win the whole thing (still can’t pull for Boise in any situation). But fear we’ll likely see Georgia against Oregon or Texas in the final.
Sort of like March Madness. I hope to see a small humble mid-major win the title but we inevitably see teams like Duke, Carolina, Ashley Judd U, Kansas, etc. make it to the title game.
