Why is Jensen coaching the Mavs through end of year?

It’s going to be a crazy month for Alex. His NBA credentials will help get his foot in the door in homes Smith had no chance. Some of the parents of local kids were going to school at U in the Majerus years or followed Utah basketball. He should have no problem recruiting the best local talent. Perfect example was Chandler that was an Utah kid but signed with BYU then went to Kentucky. Maybe we can flip him back.

I’m guessing because he is under contract and is a stand-up guy. In addition to getting Andre, I hope he considers keeping Eilert, Evans and possibly Lo Leath on the staff. I also wouldn’t mind seeing him go after Cody Fueger, who has been at UVU, BYU and now at Kentucky with Pope. He got his start as a student manager under Majerus so I’m guessing Alex knows him.

As a man of integrity, Alex may very well feel an obligation to stay committed to the Mavs until the end of the year.

Perhaps if and when the Mavs are eliminated from playoff contention (currently 2.5 ahead), the dynamics may change. So, root against the Mavs and pray they don’t by some quirk make an extended playoff run.
