Participant?

ParticipantWould be shocked if he didn’t.
-
NarfUte
ParticipantThere’s a rumor that he’s out for the year with a foot injury. I hope it’s not true…

ParticipantJust heard about this as well… wth is going on?
-

ParticipantWe need to dump under armor. We need natural turf.
-
AlohaUte
ParticipantI don’t understand, what does Under Armor have to do with what kind of turf we have? Or are those two separate thoughts combined into one short comment?
-
Xanthis
ParticipantIts probably two separate combined into one. Past players have complained about Under Armor cleats and there is a reason (maybe not this one) most teams that were with UA have left them. Its also more common to have knee / foot issues playing on artificial turf. You will see players in MLS sit out games in Seattle because of the turf.

ParticipantHoly cow are you serious? Geez. Where are you fellas hearing this?
-
NarfUte
ParticipantToo many places. It was also weird on the 700 post game, Sly had him ready to go for an interview but Rose abruptly left the locker room to go with the training staff instead of doing the on-air
-
Rick Walker
ParticipantI remember that, he did do the post game interview with Snowden though. Man this sucks

ParticipantAnd if true, when did it happen? A foot injury could explain why he ran less and his throws weren’t as crisp in the 2nd half.
The next question becomes: do you go back to Wilson or let Bottari try for 2-0 against Colorado?
-
Utesbyfive
ParticipantFrom what I’m reading on X, it’s a practice injury. However… Do they practice on Mondays?
You go back to Wilson for sure.
-
2008 National Champ
ParticipantMonday’s are usually light work with little to no hitting. At this point in the season, I’d be surprised if they were even in pads. Mainly film review and walking through this week’s game plan.

ParticipantSaw a screen shot of Bartle posting on what looked like discord. Correct me if I’m wrong. Then he immediately took it down. Someone didn’t want the info getting out I assume.
-

ParticipantHe’s been early a couple of times and then pulled it back. I assume he pre-writes the articles/posts and then waits until the school is okay with him announcing as a courtesy but accidentally hits send instead of save.
Imagine being a kid’s parent and finding out your son was injured through social media before they had a chance to tell you themselves.

KeymasterThis can’t be real, can it? Kick us while we’re down.

ParticipantHuntley is the last Utah qb to not be seriously injured after playing for Utah. These past two years you just can’t say it is a “bug” or injuries are part of the game. This is basically Whittingham football at this point.
-
RoboUte
ParticipantHuntley broke his collar bone, it was a season ender.
-
2008 National Champ
ParticipantI thought it was collar bone twice, or one and one non-throwing shoulder, and then he played most of 2019 at about 80% but that was lower body. Either way, Huntley got roughed up every year.
Troy Williams in 2016 was the last time I remember the opening day starter making it through the whole season relatively healthy.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantHe still left relatively healthy is all I am saying.
-

ParticipantLifewise, yes. But they had to sub Shelley, and then Lisk, in when they wanted to run RPO in 2019. That should have been the clearest indicator necessary that Ludwig was going to tip off his play calls based on personnel but it’s not really germane to this thread.

ParticipantLet’s not forget that this is football and it’s violent and players are bigger, stronger, and faster than they have ever been.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantAgreed but you look at other programs in Utah’s realm and it doesn’t seem as bad anywhere else.

ParticipantAre you serious? This has to be some kind of sick joke at this point. Is Wilson even healthy either? We lost our wildcat QB Kuithe already too.
I guess it’s time to fire up the ferrari
-
RoboUte
ParticipantI’m not even sure it really matters. Is anyone here expecting passable qb play right now? 3rd, 4th, 5th string… at that point nothings going well anyway.
The only real impact is that an actual person sustained an injury for this football season. That’s hard to justify
-
redeye
ParticipantRose was definitely hobbling a little during the second half.
