ParticipantHe looks to have a bright future at Utah.

ParticipantNothing against him, but I’ll believe that when he has 4 or 5 nice games under his belt. We’ve thought that about several Utes this year, and they all fizzled out.

Participantwith a competent offensive scheme and play caller, I expect a lot of players previously thought worthless to look a lot better.

ParticipantBoxer, I am with you. I liked what I saw. I suspect they chose not to play him this season because we had a lot of WRs and he could redshirt.

Participantwhen you lose 7 straight, the thought processes behind a lot of your choices need to be altered. The one that stands out the most to me on offense was the “doesn’t know the playbook” mantra given every time a young kid was kept on the bench in favor of a vet who was failing on the field.
I don’t know about Pittman’s injuries but if he was hurt as bad as his video suggested, and wasn’t making plays on the field, why weren’t Zipperer, Williams and McLain getting reps? That’s just one example of many head scratchers the last 2 years. Because if your recruits were all round pegs and your scheme calls for square ones, the time to get the drill motor out and start rounding off those holes was long before the last game of the season.

ParticipantI agree. Pitman never showed any talent even when healthy. If the playbook is too hard to understand year after year maybe it needs to be simplified so the talented young players can get some reps.
We lacked a big body WR all year with Pittman, Parks and Singer. Small sample but Williams looks good to me. I hope the last couple games springboard him to a big role next year.

KeymasterPuzzled as to why we didn’t see more of him.

ParticipantWhitt had called him out directly as a star in the making and what he has done in practices.
I still think the coaches hold onto “redshirt” way too much given the new state of college ball.
If you make plays in practice, you have to given a shot to make them in games.
And if practice stars, don’t step up under the lights, try someone else. Way too long of leashes for some players, and no leashes for others.

ParticipantHim not playing more this year is another stain on Whitt’s record with the offense.
