So, I’ve made my thoughts about the offensive coaching pretty clear in other threads. But I really can’t wrap my head around the usage (or lack their of) of Zack Moss tonight.
We’ve been riding Joe Williams game after game this season. Sure, he came in with fresh legs, but the workload that he’s shouldered since then has been pretty intense. We had a healthy Zack Moss on the sideline tonight who came in for maybe three plays? Why not bring him in a bit more as a backup to give Joe a breather? It was clear that in the 4th quarter, Joe was physically and mentally exhausted. I think it would’ve been beneficial to have Moss come in more throughout the course of the game as a change-of-pace back to Joe.
I’m not sure if that call comes down to Whitt, ARod or Erickson, but I think it was a definite miss tonight. I get that Joe has the home-run capability, but it seemed like we were riding too much on the *hope* that he would eventually break one for a big gain or TD, when in reality, the Buffs had his number all night long.
