AZswayze replied to the topic Jim Winder's ideas for the homeless has some merit IMO here's why in the forum Politics 7 years, 7 months ago
Roughly half of the homeless population are either severely mentally ill, or addicted to narcotics, which is an illness in its own right. Are shelters really the best solution for these folks? I recognize the need for shelters, but I’m wondering how much we compound the problem by lumping all homeless together (metaphorically speaking), and acting…[Read more]

I don’t know about the homeless committing more crimes (at least not violent), but roughly 25-35% are addicts, so the drug trade tends to be highly prevalent in areas where the homeless congregate. This is not an argument against homeless shelters, by the way. Seeing as nearly 50% of the homeless population is either severely mentally ill, or on…[Read more]

Most of his best movies have largely been non-horror imho: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Running Man, Stand By Me, and Misery (sort of horror I guess) come to mind. The only horror movie inspired by his books that I really love is The Shining. He’s had several decent flicks, at least entertaining, including Silver Bullet (haven’t…[Read more]

This will be great. The one thing that killed me about the first film was the ending. The special effects weren’t there yet, and the entire illusion crumbled. Also, one thing every great horror movie nails is the music, and the music in the trailer is already unsettling.

At least be honest. You’re upset because both sides jumped on you for your hatred of cops (often wishing death upon them), and that even the self proclaimed libertarians found your laissez faire ideas a tad extreme.

Can you point me to the part in the article about her being illegal or the government covering her invitro costs, because I didn’t see anything mentioning either. Is she a leech that ought to be ashamed, probably, but this doesn’t support your claim in any way, shape or form. I’m beginning to believe you’re bullshitting us, but I’ll wait to see if…[Read more]

I said everybody’s story is different, and that premiums are still rising across the board, just at a slower rate than they were prior to Obama care. Thought I made it pretty clear that I wasn’t calling your candor into question, but if not I apologize. The system is a joke, and has gotten so bad that I’ve gone from being a supporter of…[Read more]

Sowell has the exact same hair style today, only gray. Sorry, off topic, but found it amusing.
I think it’s actually worsened with the rise of social media. The amount of misinformation spread online is astonishing. People have the internet at their fingertips, literally with regard to social media, and they refuse to do a 30 second search to…[Read more]
