Ooh, a blue chip legacy automatic birth. Because if Ohio St., Alabama, OU are decent and on the fringe, they should just be in. Wait, Clemson should be on that list. And a few others… oy vey 😉

I’ve been hearing this and don’t understand fully. Average roster size was somewhere around 120 (-125?) during the season but limited to 85 scholarships. It will go to 105, but all can get scholarships. So really, we need to trim, but it’ll be mostly walk-ons (who are currently 30% of D1 rosters and practice and play but don’t receive a…[Read more]

  • Ah crap, I wouldn’t mind Marion, but now Caliman said it, so it’s not. Freakin’ jinx

    Looks like 3 years.

I can’t find the thread from just before the season, but I thought we’d have something like an 800 yard rusher, 600, and 500. Totally wrong.

    Micah Bernard 1,009
    Mike Mitchell 158
    8 with 25-66 yards
    – only 7 total rushing TDs: 4 for MB, 2 Kuithe, 1 Mitchell

    For QBs:
    IW 1,510 yards | 56% completion | 10TD | 11 INT
    CR 555 | 52% | 7 | 3
    Bottari 171…[Read more]

  • Well, hoping they are talking and it’s announced either this week or right after MWC game Fri night (if Arbuckle goes to OU and Marion accepts). Need to have an OC in place once the transfer portal opens Dec 9.

  • How many new players (HS, Transfers) will we have in 2025:
    1) <20
    2) 20-30
    3) 30-40
    4) 40+

    Or, new starters:
    1) <10
    2) 10-15
    3) 15-20
    4) the whole team

  • What should next year’s highest goal be:
    1) CFP
    2) CCG
    3) Bowl Game (6-6)
    4) Beat BYU
    5) Have a QB start at least 9 games
    6) Have <3 season-ending injuries

  • The Big 12 has long had the approach of spreading out rivalries through the later weeks of the season rather than pitting them in direct competition with each other and other league rivalries. In general, it’s a smart move.

With the expanded conference numbers, there are only 4 ‘protected’ rivalries in the Big 12 right now (that will be played…[Read more]

  • Following. I still will follow and watch the Utes, but my interest in putting money out to travel to away games (and I don’t live in Utah) is waning with the whole college environment – NIL/transfers, etc. I’ve been to Tempe, Tucson, Boulder, and TCU (back in MWC days), but none of the other places (ok, have passed through Waco, Lubbock, and…[Read more]

  • I was really looking forward to @UCF with 2 cousins that went there and live in FL and now my parents snowbird there. But it wouldn’t have been the whole family and other travel partners weren’t going to do it due to Thanksgiving, so it fell through. Glad it didn’t work out I guess, but sad we are 4-7 going into it rather than the hoped for 10-1…[Read more]

  • DataUte replied to the topic 5th String QB in the forum Football 3 weeks, 3 days ago

I think it’s not 1 thing. I think it’s the combination of turf, strength and conditioning, UA, scheme, altitude, Whit apparently sold something to the devil, and perhaps fluoride in the water ;). These fellas just aren’t living right off the field. I mean, MB with the scooter accident last year that kept him out? Brandon Rose with a lacerated…[Read more]

  • They have decent recruiting talent yet are 4-7 like we are. I know 2 of my cousins went there 10+ years ago and their mascot is a Knight. Sometimes, a launch out of Cape Canaveral takes place during a game and the stadium is situated so you can see it pretty well, so that’s cool.

  • DataUte replied to the topic 5th String QB in the forum Football 3 weeks, 3 days ago

None of the qbs changed positions nor put on a lot of weight (like to be a LB or TE). But this could be true of some of the other position players. That comes back to strength and conditioning (and flexibility). Cue TB12 Tom Brady …

  • DataUte replied to the topic 5th String QB in the forum Football 3 weeks, 3 days ago

    He’s not. Backup at Vandy

  • DataUte replied to the topic UCF in the forum Football 3 weeks, 3 days ago

Agree. He’s raised his stock and might actually be draftable or UDFA.

  • T-2 at 8-4. My best week ever I think! And I have no memory of who I picked. For the season I’m 56%, so only slightly above literal pick ’em.

  • DataUte replied to the topic Britain Covey in the forum NFL 3 weeks, 5 days ago

You earn a ton of points with teammates and coaches for doing the dirty work. He’s already loved, but doing your job even without the stats is a mark of a competitor.

  • In addition to some workhorse RBs, I’d position that it’s better to pay a little less and get 3 medium/3-star backs but pay money to OL. Some systems can plug and play decent RBs with a great line rather than having to have a good line with an outstanding RB (which are in high demand and have to stay healthy).

If you build from the trenches out,…[Read more]
