It’s still more than MBB has accomplished recently. Sure, it’s not the NCAA tourney, but still… we haven’t even made the NIT recently.

There are a few fans here who do. I understand occasional criticism for a decision here or there or even their bowl performance, but there are legit people who think we should move on from Whitt and that Utah can find someone better.

I just don’t understand how they can be so terribly bad on the road. I get not being as good, but this big of a difference is horrendous.

Problem for them is geography. Those markets are all condensed and largely covered by Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, etc.

Michigan State is in danger purely because they’ll already have Michigan.

Nah, they’ll keep Maryland and Rutgers because of their markets. Same reason they’d probably include Virginia, NC, ASU, and Colorado.

But Illinois, Purdue and or Indiana, Michigan State, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Vandy, Northwestern (because ND provides Chicago), Kentucky, and maybe a couple more need to be really nervous.

I can’t imagine that a super league would include both Mississippi and Miss State, OU and Ok State, IU and Purdue. I think it would just be one of each. Also, it wouldn’t include Northwestern and Vandy. I think this is great. The tweak I would make to this is that for the P4 conferences, it is 3 or 2 autobids respectively so long as the teams are ranked in the top 16. Like one year #24 Virginia made it in while #13 Bama didn’t. Bama should be in in that case.

Top G6 should always be in no matter where ranked.

To be fair though, College Football Head Coach has to be one of the worst jobs in America right now – it’s only saving grace is the money. I bet every one of the 133 FBS head coaches would rather be an NFL head coach. NFL head coach is immensely less work and stress and less complicated. Unfortunately there are only 32 jobs available.

Actually, they are too. This is the first season they’ve sniffed the tourney in a long time. Is it incredible improvement? No. But it is better than last season, and last season was better than the season before.

Every time I hear “Death, Taxes, and Utah Football” I’m reminded of how awesome Whittingham is and we are dang lucky we have him.

That is a great start and anyone who knows baseball knows that a 7 game win streak is hard to do. There are just so many variables and it’s not like the U is playing high school teams. Seems like all the sports programs are continuing to improve.

Not sure I see then keeping out Colorado, if only because of their market.

Not everything is rainbows and unicorns and it shouldn’t be, but you are always negative. They could go 12-0 and you would complain that the Pac-12 isn’t good enough, so it’s really not that great of an accomplishment. Therefore we should move on from Whit because he wouldn’t be able to do the same thing in the SEC.

Why does Utah playing in high profile games skew the numbers any more than the teams around then? Why should we account for those if we aren’t for others?
