Well 2002 was a huge success for the state. It isn’t likely 2034 will meet that level of success, but it may still be successful.

Yep, these two schools are far more in demand than FSU and Clemson. FSU and Clemson suffer by not being AAU (a reported B1G requirement) and the SEC already having a presense in Florida and South Carolina.

Where as UVA and UNC are great academic universities and in markets where the SEC and B1G do not have a presence.

It mostly logically makes sense that the B1G would want Stanford, but I agree it’s not a fore-gone conclusion. Especially because unless Stanford as a Univeristy is able to adapt to where CFB is with the transfer portal, they will be a perennial bottom dweller and never competitive again.

Makes sad to hear about Baseball. It’s such a great game. But ive met a bunch who said the same about the strike. And today the game may be better than ever. So many amazing players. And even though I despise the Dodgers, Shoehei Ohtani may be the greatest player ever and he’s a treat to watch.

Yeah, all this talk this week that the SEC and B1G aren’t going to be bringing in FSU or other big market teams is just them not wanting to give the ACC any legal windows to sue for tampering or whatever.

It’s no different than a coach saying he’s not leaving for the bigger job, only to leave a month later.

If I can finagle a business trip, somewhat realistically, to either Phoenix or Houston, I’ll catch the ASU or Houston game. But it’s not likely.

That said, thanks for asking this because it made me think about it and I can now work on scheduling business trips around these games.

I’m not saying to replace BYU, just also. Kind of like how Stanford has Cal and Notre Dame or Bama has Auburn and Tennessee. I’d love to see the rivalry with Colorado flourish.

I like your concept. Getting to a 24 team conference at this point generally makes sense (even though it’s also preposterous). But I’ll be a bit nipicky, if the ACC falls apart they’ll take UNC and UVA (or VA Tech, Louisville, Pitt, Duke, Ga Tech) over Oregon State and Wazzu.

The only way it happens is if the following three things happen:

1. They successfully get put of the ACC before 2036

2. The B1G holds strong to their desire that any new additions need to be AAU and therefore refuse FSU and Clemson.

3. The SEC decides that they don’t add value because they already have teams in Florida and SC.
