Amazing. This is Utah Football.

We should be loaded next year. Even before this season started, many of us viewed this year with optimism, but a nice to have. But next year being the no excuse year. We should win the Pac-12 next season and we should be in the conversation for the Playoff.

I just view it as an exhibition / pre-P12 CG warm-up. It’s a game we should win comfortably (though history suggests otherwise). I like having it at the end of the year. Our P-12 schedule is done, nothing to worry about this week. No stress.

But at some point I want to see a little of Whit’s fire directed at such craziness. It’s one thing if it is a one or two time thing, but Utah has been consistently screwed by it and I want our coach to show some fire about it.

We didn’t play the two worst in the North. That’s what is significant.

I think you are mistaking that for the missed targeting call that should have been called on USC when Wazzu was driving down the field in their last drive. It would have given them a first down and put them well into field goal range. It was an egregious non call as it was text book targeting. Huntley has played great this season. IMO, it is his job to lose on the field. He should be the starter next season regardless of how Shelley plays.

The actual Nebraska TV market may indeed be smaller, i.e. Omaha + Lincoln, but it’s absolutely not smaller nationally. People will watch Nebraska anyday over Utah primarily just because of the history. I’d say that the G5 can have no more than 1, maybe 2 losses. I also think that each P-5 conference should automatically be represented, but it doesn’t always need to be the CCG winner. Sigh, this is the only reason I wish I still lived in SoCal (moved 2 months ago). I’ve been to the last 2 Ute games at the Rose Bowl and this year tickets are the cheapest they’ve ever been.

Not how it works, anything Stanford wins moving forward Stanford keeps. It doesn’t come to us just because we already beat them. Or I’m misunderstanding your comment and you are suggesting that we win out and beat Stanford in the Pac-12 CG and we’d thus won all of Stanford’s acquired territory.

If I remember right, it is in the northwest corner of the Rosebowl, opposite side from where the players run on and off the field. But you can get better seats seated among the UCLA fans.

Exactly. We’ve lost our minds. Our defense in #1 (or near to it in the nation), our special teams is still special and we have the same old offense we’ve always had. It sucks, but nothing to lose our minds over. We still are in a great place to win the South. People need to stop freaking out.

I agree is wildly frustrating. I can’t stand our yet again mediocre offense. But the season is not lost and we are not the worst. We still have talent, the defense, and the special teams to win the South and make the P-12 championship game.
