This, Scalley did something stupid and ignorant. But what he did in now way warranted getting fired. And the U should be applauded for not caving to irrational, blood-thirsty activists.

Considering how often you claim to be educated and informed, your ignorance is huge here and it is so, so tiring.

AlohaUte replied to the topic Morgan Scalley is back!!!! in the forum Football 4 years, 6 months ago
The only explanation for this is that you haven’t actually read anything about what happened and are ignorant to the context. Either that or you are a completely irrational person incapable of considering nuance and accepting anything other than zero-sum.

AlohaUte replied to the topic None of us have context in the forum Football 4 years, 6 months ago
What do you mean we don’t have context, we have tons of context:
* He used the word with Shah in a text.
* Sha, who is black, use the word N***a’s in a text to Scalley
* Scalley responded with something like, well, “I just landed that n***a.”
* Sha didn’t take offense and wasn’t offended.
* The text accidentally went to a recruit
* Scalley flew…[Read more] -
AlohaUte replied to the topic Was Scalley expected to become the next Utah Head Coach? in the forum Football 4 years, 7 months ago
Boy I’ve seen some bad takes in my day on UteHub, but this could be the worst. I wouldn’t be at all shocked if Whitt were gone in the next 5 years, but your marginalization of Whittingham and essentially saying his is mediocre and not really very good, is completely asinine and stupid.

AlohaUte started the topic Am I wrong for my BBall expectations be for them to make the tourney annually? in the forum Basketball (Men) 4 years, 10 months ago
There has been a lot of debate in the past few weeks about the state of the Basketball team. I’ve decided that my expectations is that the program should make the Tourney every year. I can live with the occasional miss, but considering about 50% of the Pac-12 schools make the tourney every year, there is no reason Utah shouldn’t be one of them.…[Read more]

AlohaUte replied to the topic If the Ute Tribe big timed us, who would we be? (offseason topic) in the forum Football 4 years, 10 months ago
As a serious answer, I definitely vote for Moose. It’s unique, they are local to Utah, and they are dangerous and awesome

AlohaUte replied to the topic For all those calling for Larry’s head after losing… in the forum Basketball (Men) 4 years, 10 months ago
I’m not sure I understand your rant. Colorado has a top-25 team who choked. Utah is straight abysmal and after, what, 8, 10 years as the head coach I and many of us expect the Utes to be a stable and highly competitive program. I don’t expect them to be Duke or Kentucky or anything of the sort, but I do expect stability. I expect a team that…[Read more]

AlohaUte replied to the topic Preseason FPI Rankings. Utes #24. Not all gloom and doom. in the forum Football 4 years, 11 months ago
First you mean delude. We aren’t diluting anything.
Second, you do realize we can both be right. The loss wasn’t all on Huntley at all. It was on the O-Line getting lit up and the D-Line getting dominated. Football is won in the trenches. However, Huntley when scrambling was looking down and for running lanes as opposed to keeping his eyes…[Read more]

I’m just thrilled we were included on the list. The program Whitt is building is pretty cool.

AlohaUte replied to the topic 9 Utes invited to the NFL Draft Combine in the forum Football 4 years, 11 months ago
Well, I wish Tyler Huntley were listed, but beyond that, that’s pretty impressive! It’s a shame how the season ended, but this was still an all time great Ute team and appreciate all of them.

To be fair to Pace, this post was not him complaining and you complaining about him here really isn’t necessary.

AlohaUte replied to the topic Either Way it's on Larry in the forum Basketball (Men) 5 years ago
Here’s the thing, considering how long he’s been at the U, he should have a better and more stable program than he has. Something isn’t working. I willing to give him next season to see if these recruiting classes gel. But if the Utes don’t make the tourney in 20-21 season, he needs to go.

AlohaUte replied to the topic We may not have a top-10 recruiting class in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Yup, this. I want us to stockpile great O-line like we do D-Line. Championships are won in the trenches. As evidenced by the Pac12 CG.

AlohaUte replied to the topic is this good ranking for us? in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Hmmm, I would have liked to have seen that average increase a bit more over the years. I would especially expect a bit more a jump after the season we had this year. Hopefully if we can string together consistent contention for the Pac-12 Championship we will see those numbers increase.

should dominate the Pac-12 for a long time. They are clearly going to be 1-2 slugging it out in the North.
Meanwhile the South looks completely up for grabs. ASU and USC seem to be doing the best in recruiting with UCLA a step behind. Utah is a crap shoot due to the unknowns of RMs and transfers. The long and short of it, I think Arizona and…[Read more] -

No, no, we get your argument, we just think it’s stupid. If Utah is 98th in mid February then I’ll share your concern. But at this point your constant complaining about it reflects poorly on you especially in the middle of what Utah is doing now…with recruits that you clearly think aren’t worthy.

AlohaUte replied to the topic On the eve of the CCG… in the forum Football 5 years, 1 month ago
Well, I’d argue that Oregon, Clemson, and Michigan State were all not historical or national powers when they made it on the first time. In fact I’d throw Georgia and maybe Washington in there too. That being said, Utah would be the most out of left field.
