Yeah, that’s how every school is. It’s not like Utah has great programs in everything. BYU is still an excellent university. If you want to go into Business or Law or be an entrepreneur BYU is one of the best schools in the nation. If you want to study medicine, engineering, sciences and do research go to Utah.

Do you have the link? U.S. News usually has BYU in the 70’s in national rankings and Utah around 100-120. So I’m surprised by this. (also US News rankings are kinda trash). Meh, there’s tons of all kinds of talent for football and basketball in the Bay Area and Cal sucks at both. I think it’s far less local talent pool (which certainly is a minor factor) and far more coaching and program culture. It’s not like Utah was any more packed with local BBall talent in the 1990’s than they are today, yet the Utes were amazing then.

How are we on the Nordic front? IIRC, we are pretty solid, but any chance of us losing the lead due to it?

I feel the same way. The NBA seems to have far less parity and it stinks. But the Jazz doing so well has also re-sparked my interest this season.

My favorite play from last year was one of Ty Jordan’s TD runs, I think against Wazzu, when he basically juked a LB and then a DB for about a 15 yard run or so, that was an amazing run.
