FWIW, the Baylor alum I spoke with recommended the Olive Branch for a breakfast spot. And said don’t bother with the Chip and Joanna stuff because you can just get everything at Target. That’s about it…lol!

He didn’t seem too high on their tailgating scene. I think there’s tailgating that happens on or near the river, but I doubt it’s anything…[Read more]

The biggest difference I noticed was the crowd noise post-game.

Florida fans in Gainesville were gloating jackasses. Walking out of RES last night through the west exits and the tunnel to the law school, you’d think Utah fans had just exited a play where they already knew how the ending would play out. Maybe Gator fans were hearing it on the…[Read more]

Utah historically sucks in early kicks.
It’s going to be 104 degrees and sunny. Yikes!
If you’re going, where are you sitting?
Seems like visitors take up space in both the south and north parts of their stadium, which has a capacity of the old RES. I haven’t bought tickets, but at this point I’m just going to get anything that will be in the…[Read more]

  • Emotional UW win, look ahead to OSU Civil War, plus late night kick/cold weather in Eugene taking some of the buzz off of this weekend? It’s a recipe I had hoped for.
More importantly, Utah looks to be peaking.

  • Thought it might be helpful to share the updated PAC-12 championship game tiebreaker rules for those who will need to reference it or want to bookmark it, because the new conference championship format is going to be stress inducing this year.
For Utah, there is probably no room for error and USC is a must-win. With USC being better, there…[Read more]

With a new indoor facility likely going up, I’d like to see the University use the Spence Eccles Fieldhouse to enhance the gameday experience similar to how Oregon uses an indoor facility (the Moshofsky Center) on gamedays. I saw it first hand on my 2015 trip to Oregon where my 5 year old son and I were on-site for the infamous 62-20 drubbing of…[Read more]

  • I had some fun banter with the ones I sat by at the Rose Bowl. They didn’t know anything about Utah football and when I mentioned things like, “that’s our 3rd string RB who caught that TD and and he’s also playing CB,” or “this team if full of freshman and sophomores,” two of the guys literally looked at me stone-faced and said, “No, can’t be…[Read more]

  • And once again, yes I eat many, many, many (bad) words which exited my person during the first quarter of this football season.

Jim Harding OL Coach of the Year

I will say, I hope things do come together more quickly in the ’22 season. Because this team can defend their PAC12 title and make a playoff run. Utah will be a preseason Top 10…[Read more]

  • If you’d like to park close to Rose Bowl Stadium without paying over $200, call/text this guy named Mike and get on his list. He probably only has about 10 spots left as of today.
I’m not going to directly post his number here, but if you read over his Craigslist ad (here) you can get all of the details and find his number by clicking on the…[Read more]

Thought maybe it’d be nice to have a general thread where people can share any good ideas and/or deals they’re seeing for travel plans to LA.

  • Utah has been ranked in the CFP poll more times than any other PAC 12 team and is tied for #7 on the list of all teams that have been ranked the most frequently in the CFP poll (33 appearances as of the 11/23/21 poll). Utah will likely take sole possession of that #7 ranking next week, as LSU continues to miss out on the rankings this year.

I think Utes debut in the rankings tonight – somewhere around 23-25.
Ducks probably move up a spot (Yogi Roth thinks they should jump 2 spots ahead of Alabama).

There are nonstop Southwest flights to/from Burbank for as low as $44 one way right now.

If you have points on Southwest it’s even better. I just booked 5 round trip tickets departing Friday 10/8 returning Monday 10/11 for 22k points.

I did this all against my better judgement as every other year I vow not to travel to the USC game, but here we…[Read more]

  • Arizona’s defensive line is AWFUL. The kind of awful that will take years of recruiting to repair.
UA’s Gunner Cruz reminded me of a freshman Travis Wilson, except for Wilson never threw for over 300 yards against BYU – lol!
Arizona’s offense put up over 400 yards on BYU and only came away with 16 points? Yikes.
I am not on the BAM…[Read more]

  • alUmnUs started the topic Biggest game ever at RES? in the forum Football 5 years ago

Is this Saturday the biggest home game ever at RES? I say yes:
-Outright repeat of division title on the line
    -Playoff implication on the line
-Rose Bowl implication on the line
When has so much ever been at stake for Utah Football? I mean the only way it could feel bigger would be if Colorado had all of those things on the line as well,…[Read more]

  • Hyperbole much? My office is in Redwood City and it doesn’t take 4 hours to navigate to Santa Clara. There’s plenty of ways to appropriately plan to get to Levi’s Stadium on time for a game – even on a Friday. There were about 15 thousand Utes fans who got there just fine last year and there will be more this year if Utes make it and certainly…[Read more]

  • This topic was discussed ad nauseam last year. This year’s potential scenario is completely different. Oregon and Utah are on path to best PAC12 Championship game scenario ever. It will all turn out fine. Anyone who is attending the game, but driving to Santa Clara during rush hour will have planned poorly. Sounds like you won’t be there if it…[Read more]
