News breaking that Coach Smith has been let go. The timing is a bit surprising but truthfully, I think that if we want to be great, this is what had to be done. I agree — a JMH Center replacement would be very welcome, from my standpoint. Have some great memories there but it is extremely dated, hard to get to, and the environment with it half-empty is just a buzzkill. I know it probably isn’t priority 1 for the athletic department but it would motivate me to go to several more games each season.

Everything you said is true! I don’t think any of the potential candidates were slam dunks — the truth is Arbuckle and Leftwich both have huge question marks still. I’m actually pretty happy with the Beck hire. That being said I’m a little more hesitant with the QB — he’s undersized and accuracy isn’t strong. 12 TD’s and 12 picks…awesome rusher though.

Travis definitely had his moments! That 60+ point Oregon game was amazing. Also loved both Michigan wins, including the one he literally almost lost his head lol. But ultimately I think his best wasn’t quite good enough to take the team to the next level. But I liked him for sure!
