If he goes to Mater Dei, he’ll go to Oregon or USC guaranteed.

Rick, I say that those schools have higher ceilings for several reasons. One, they all have a longer history of football success (i.e. national brand) than Utah. Two, they’re all as big (or bigger) and deep-pocketed in the student body and alumni base. Lastly, they’re all located in locations that have larger population bases and access to…[Read more]

Honestly, and it pains me to say it, I’ll be happy when Cam Rising is no longer wearing a Utah uniform. I’ve been following football for 50 years and in all of that time I’ve never been exposed to a situation as surreal as how Utah manages its QB room.

The only team that can realistically beat us is TCU
Are you for real or just trolling? Did you or did you not see Arizona completely own the Utes last Saturday night at the RES? No disrespect, but your comment is an example of the type of arrogance that a certain subset of the fanbase displays. As far as I’m concerned, any opponent can beat…[Read more]

That’s the weird thing. From what I’ve read, he’s been medically cleared to play since before the OK ST game. So, he can play but hasn’t because he’s not able to get any zip on the ball.

And Utah’s problem is that it’s not the most attractive program in the Big XII. I would submit that schools like Texas Tech, Arizona, ASU, and Colorado have higher ceilings if run competently.

It’s conjecture based on the hardware he’s got on his fingers.

So, all of this speculation means that Wilson will be QB1 for the foreseeable future. If that’s the case, we might be 4-4 by the time we play BYU and pissed away another season because of a failure to manage the QB room in an adequate manner.

From the Athletic:
This is the hardest team to project in all of college football. Quarterback Cameron Rising has been awesome for Utah throughout his career when healthy, but injuries have capped the potential of what this team can achieve. He missed all of 2023 recovering from a knee injury suffered in the previous season’s Rose Bowl, and t…

I never blame Cam for anything. At the end of the day, he’s an employee, not an exec. This game, and the situation last year, is all on the main man himself, Coach Whitt. Even he has off days. I lost count of the number of blitzes that Arizona laid on Isaac, they were that predictable. And yet, it was like playing against the Tampa Bay Bucs…[Read more]

Why is he going to classes? Is he working on his doctorate? I mean, he’s a professional college student by now.

If you look at the historical record, I’d bet you that Utah has lost, at home, to most of those teams. The one I’m most familiar with is the total ass-whooping that Boise State laid on us in 2006. Due to the proximity of Boise to SLC, there was a massive away contingent and boy, didn’t they just wear out their welcome?

How is it different? It’s different because he’s making adjustments and changes for personal gain. It’s not a hard concept to grasp.

Is UNLV next? What do you guys think about Utah leaving the Big XII and returning to the PAC 12? The PAC 12 still needs one more football-playing member with the Zags leaving the WCC and not having a football component. Currently, the PAC 12 members are Wazzu, Oregon State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Utah…[Read more]

I guess things like insider trading don’t bother you either? Rose had access to a much wider range of data than your normal bettor. He had an entire scouting department at his fingertips and could make bets based on that information. Doesn’t seem very fair to me.
