In context of the USC game, Utah has yet to beat them in their stadium since joining the Pac 12.

How about Utah just close shop on the Football team and all of the players change positions to now become apart of the gymnastics team? They’ll have a better chance at winning a national championship with gymnastics vs a miniscule chance in football.

I’m wondering if his draft grade was based off of when he was healthy and putting up the numbers that he was. With his injury and not able to perform at the NFL combine at 100%, I wonder if they projected his draft stock to be lower which partially influenced him to come back and finish his business all on a healthy note. Thinking out loud here…

An interesting solution would be to not pay the players, but rather, let them market themselves as they wish. Outside of “apparel sponsorships” why not allow players to obtain what they can? Or each college can build a tax deferred fund for use after graduation? They can even make it related to their performance.

I feel that if BYU were more of a powerhouse program (getting to bigger bowl games and winning) we would be more accepting to the idea of playing them as it would be nationally viewed as more of a marquee game beyond the rivalry. But they haven’t been able to win big games. As a result it’s a bit of a lose, lose for Utah to play them.

Ludwig’s win/loss as an OC in D1 over the last 21 years is 154 -101. Averages 7 wins a year and a .60 win percentage.
Now this does include things not within his control (I.e Special Teams and Defense) I get that. But overall not terrible numbers for his career.

Apparently he is set to be suspended for violating team rules of drinking. I can see why he’s transferring.

Oregon is coming on strong to recruit Puka Nacua since Kingsburys departure from USC. Hopefully his departure will bode well for Utah in flipping some recruits including Nacua.

According to his player card he played in 4 games in 2018 and it was on special teams. He was recruited as a DE and then was moved to LB. I understand his decision especially after news of returning players and transfers in. However, I don’t think his absence will be noticed too much. I lost a few years off of my life from Blackmon getting beat repeatedly this last year. To his defense, he’s also made some terrific plays at times too. But I love that the others are all coming back.

That is correct, during the Pac 12 era the losing team in the Pac 12 championship hasn’t won their bowl game in the year they lost the Pac 12 championship game.
