      (Not including 2019)

      43. UTAH
      Ranks last 5 years: 25, 34, 41, 67, 43 = 42.0

Judge Farrell: OVERACHIEVED. Utah has been consistently ranked in the Top 25 the last three seasons and is 33-18 during the four-year span.

Do you suspect this is Utahs last attempt to try and lure Puka?

I feel that if BYU were more of a powerhouse program (getting to bigger bowl games and winning) we would be more accepting to the idea of playing them as it would be nationally viewed as more of a marquee game beyond the rivalry. But they haven’t been able to win big games. As a result it’s a bit of a lose, lose for Utah to play them.

Whether this has validity to it or not, I was informed by a colleague who’s son plays in State highschool football and was friends with Puka, said Puka was never coming to Utah to begin with.

Apparently the Mother and Brother were all for it but the brothers aren’t very close in terms of family. Now this is word of mouth so I understand it has no legs. But if it is true, that’s too bad.

In context of the USC game, Utah has yet to beat them in their stadium since joining the Pac 12.

Here’s to hoping we rewrite that piece of history this year!! 🍺🍺

Can I play along in the fun??

How about Utah just close shop on the Football team and all of the players change positions to now become apart of the gymnastics team? They’ll have a better chance at winning a national championship with gymnastics vs a miniscule chance in football.

He didn’t have the best overall performance in the Holiday Bowl. I dont put tips on a QB unless it’s well behind or in front of the intended receiver. But JS was not his best in his last two games. He’s a great QB against mid to low competition. But he’s a bit of a different player against superior teams. I will agree on his reads and handoffs are MUCH better than TH. JS isn’t as selfish either. But his throws are where TH is much more superior and speed..

I’m wondering if his draft grade was based off of when he was healthy and putting up the numbers that he was. With his injury and not able to perform at the NFL combine at 100%, I wonder if they projected his draft stock to be lower which partially influenced him to come back and finish his business all on a healthy note. Thinking out loud here…

An interesting solution would be to not pay the players, but rather, let them market themselves as they wish. Outside of “apparel sponsorships” why not allow players to obtain what they can? Or each college can build a tax deferred fund for use after graduation? They can even make it related to their performance.
