I agree it is worthless, but mainly BECAUSE YBU isn’t on it. Not many people know this, because their fans never talk about it, but they won a national championship. I’m surprised their formula didn’t recognize that… Oh wait, their formula doesn’t give credit for losing the game rather than the other team beating you. That is definitely what was…[Read more]

You think they used film to be able to vote Ben Lennon honorable mention, or is it purely, “Australian, Ute punter?” Check!

Best option for Pac-12 to make the playoff…
https://247sports.com/college/utah/LongFormArticle/Oregon-State-football-opponent-preview-Utah-Utes-2019-133600383/Granted it says “might be.” I don’t feel like the other previews I’ve read have been willing to make that connection.

Even a wildest dream that has Tua and J Jeudy putting up zero can’t be taken seriously. If they only score two touchdowns, that’s a wet dream scenario. Have you watched that AB practice video where Huntley was throwing? Jeudy is ridiculous!

I don’t know the guy, but based on what is often said about his mental make up, intelligence, and work ethic, if anyone can be ready for week 1, it’s Britain MFing Covey.

Interesting Herbert isn’t the top 5 of that PFF stat, I wonder where he landed on there. The difference between Huntley and Costello is more than double the difference between Costello and Garbers.

ayoriver replied to the topic I posted a pic with Antonio Brown in Ute gear, but here is a video of Huntley in the forum Football 5 years, 6 months ago
If the limited takeaway from that video is any indication, Ludwig’s general desire to set up the throw game with the run will allow Dixon to have a good year taking the top off of defenses. Jeudy is a beast though, and we just don’t have anyone like that unless someone improves quite significantly over the summer. Still, I really enjoyed what I saw.

Personally, I can’t think of many things more satisfying than being the only loss on BYU’s schedule. I would love for them to win all their other games while Utah’s streak grows and grows. That’s just me though. I figure that allows the game to aid us to some degree.

ayoriver replied to the topic Best Offensive Player in the forum Football 5 years, 6 months ago
I don’t really understand the rational of holding him out. He’s an NFL talent, who should be on the field and wants to be on the field.
Keep in mind, at least in part, he came back to become the top back in U history. He only needs a partial season to do that, but I’m sure he wants to widen the gap and not just top it by a hair.

ayoriver replied to the topic Are our expectations realistic? in the forum Football 5 years, 6 months ago
I share that sentiment. Our two previous kickers were a former skier who became Automatic, and a walk-on soccer player who didn’t win the job coming out of camp but turned into an award winning NFL draftee. Realizing I’m posting this in the thread about unrealistic expectations, why isn’t there more optimism about Strauch, who actually has P5 game…[Read more]

ayoriver replied to the topic Is Mique Juarez coming to Utah? in the forum Football 5 years, 7 months ago
One of the biggest reasons I love Utah involves their ability to develop players, as we can see in the numerous examples who have made it to the League without much of a recruiting pedigree pre-Utah. In recent years, we’ve seen a DT transfer to USC to get playing time. If all plays out like it should, we currently have a top DB recruit who will be…[Read more]
